About College: Brief History of the College

RSV CARS Bemetara Revendra Singh Verma College of Agriculture and Research Station Bemetara is situated at 70 km away in the west direction from capital of Chhattisgarh. The campus provides congenial environment for studies. RSVCARS, Bemetara follows a holistic approach for the development of the agriculture by integrating teaching, research and extension activities and assumes specific responsibility for improvement to rural life in totality. Admission to under graduate programme is carried out though Pre-Agriculture Test (PAT) conducted by “CGVYAPAM” (CGPEB) of the State Government. The total intake capacity for the UG programme is 83. The objective is to forge ahead in teaching, research and extension services in agriculture and allied field. The centre intends to strengthen contemporary knowledge of agricultural science and develop strong and efficient manpower that would cater the needs of rural areas. Thus major goals of the centre are:

• 2. • Conduct site specific research on varietal development, identification of new genotypes for the region, research on pulses, oilseeds, cereals, vegetable crops etc.
• 3. • To conduct research on quality seed production and saplings production of fruit crops..
• 4. • Transfer of technology to farmers and extension personnel engaged in agricultural development through various extension programmes.
